A boy and his new toy....

Today it was a beautiful spring day outside, so the kids have been outside for most of it, after finishing their schoolwork first. I went out later this afternoon to watch them play and saw that they found a bat a ball. My youngest arrow and also our only son was playing with the bat. He LOVED it.....although, he used it more for a glof club than a bat. Then it hit me and I remembered that on his First Christmas his Pappaw gave him his first set of golf clubs!!! He is FINALLY the right size for them, so today he played golf. It was the cutest thing! I am so grateful that the Lord has allowed me to mother a boy after having 4 girls. It has shown me a new side of parenting that I never thought I would know. It is such an honor to raise young maidens to know and love the Lord and to honor, obey and love their husbands(to be). What a joy to also raise a son, a man of God, a spiritual leader, a husband (to be) and defender of our faith. I am so blessed!

I pray that you are feeling the blessing of being a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend. God is so good! All the time! Enjoy the day!

Blessings,
Blessed Mommy and my arrows

You know there is a boy in the house.....

when you find your 12 year old sobbing over broken pottery. She worked so hard on this piece of pottery. On her birthday we took 3 of her friends to a neat little place in town where you paint pottery. They worked hard for 2 1/2 hours and then the next week they were ready for us to pick up. My oldest arrow was very proud of her horse and Mommy was too. She did a really wonderful job, so to see it in pieces was very disheartening.

I did attempt to put her horse head back together. It's supposed to be a jewelery box, but the lid doesn't fit on it like it once did....no thanks to her brother. He really likes to throw...........and everything turns into a ball. It's just One of the MANY, MANY, many, many joys of having a BOY in the house. We are all adjusting, but hey, at least there is never a dull moment. It's a hoppin' house!

Happy First Birthday, My Precious Boy....

Oh be still my heart....my precious baby is turning one today. While it is still "Friday night" to me, the time is 12:21am, September 27th. There have been many preparations going on this week, for our impending birthday bash. We are all pitching in and doing something. The younger girls helped make the invitations, the oldest is making the cake, Daddy is frying up the "frog legs" aka chicken wings, Mommy is crying alot, and crying some more.

It breaks my heart to see my baby growing up so fast, but it gives me such joy to see his smile every morning and every night. God has been so good to me and my family. He has blessed me with 5 Wonderful, God fearing, Beautiful Children (with one awaiting my arrival in heaven). How can I be so selfish, so sad? This is a joyous day, but it pains me so. I just pray that my pain will ease with the smiles, giggles and joys of a birthday boy on his special day.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the precious gift of children. Thank you for my precious son. May he always know you, love you and never know a day without you. Lord strengthen me and fill my heart with joy, forgive me of my selfishness, for who am I that I should be sad over my son turning a year older, when You gave your precious SON's Life to save our souls. Praise you Lord for your mercy and love!! Praise to you, oh God, for giving us life, life eternal. Be with us all today, here in my home, on the road, all around the world, with my readers. May You be Glorified today and always! Amen.

Happy First Birthday My Precious Boy, My Son!!!!!!! Always know that you are loved!

Sleep Deprived.....and CRABBY

No pun intended...since we are still at the beach. :) Apparently my 10 month old son doesn't like sleeping at night. He is currently sleeping in my bedroom at the beach house and it is NOT working for me. He has been up all night for a few weeks now. My whole demeanor is going down hill and fast. Part of me wants to be back home simply because I would let him cry and not worry about waking up a whole house full of people. I am so concious of everyone else in the house, I hate to think I kept someone else awake at night because of one of my kids crying. I think everyone heard my son last night though....he was not cooperating with me at all and I couldn't run away. He would stand up on the side of the bed and look at me while crying.

I think maybe I wouldn't be so tired if I could go to bed a decent hour. You know how it is...on vacation with friends, put the kids to bed, adults downstairs, it's quiet, junk food comes out, ice cream and a game of Qwirkle. There are so many giggles and serious belly laughing, clean ups on aisle 4 (from the moms peeing in their pants) and cheeks hurting that I can't go to bed and miss all the fun, no matter how tired I am.

Anyway, time to get off the puter as my husband says and get a tan!! Happy Blogging!
